Rujuta Diwekar Shares Some Facts, Dos And Don'ts About Turmeric Milk -
Use regular milk for haldi doodh
Rujuta suggests using non-branded, regular, full fat milk from your local dairy sans labels and packaging. But, if you live in an area where it is difficult to get regular milk, try to source it from free grazing cows. She further reveals that the best kind of milk is the one that goes bad in a couple of hours when not refrigerated.
Use naturally grown haldi
Try to buy regular turmeric powder that is grown naturally and locally; especially, the one that grows in the shade of a banana tree with a mirchi and genda phool growing next to it.
Add other spices if you are drinking turmeric milk at night
Adding a pinch of haldi along with pepper or nutmeg ensures that you don't catch cough or cold after drinking turmeric milk at night. In fact, this drink may help prevent such infections. Also, drinking the milk at bedtime might also help with weight loss as haldi and milk is a powerful combination of essential fatty acids, antioxidants and anti-inflammatory agents.

You can drink turmeric milk in the morning as well but drinking at night is better
Drinking haldi doodh in the morning provides similar effects but not entirely the same. The main reason why haldi doodh is consumed at night is because it allows you to optimise your hormonal balance that helps you sleep peacefully and wake up fresher, with each passing day.
Turmeric milk may help manage PCOD
Haldi doodh is a good drink for PCOD patients, especially, if someone has cystic acne. In this case, adding a pinch of aliv seeds will be more helpful.
Last but not the least, having excessive haldi may not be a good idea
If you have haldi every day in copious amounts, it can lead to acidity and bloating. However, having a pinch with milk, or as a spice while cooking sabzis and dals every day is completely safe.
So, make use of this information and drink the magical turmeric milk every day to boost your health.
