In a bid to reduce plastic waste, many restaurants and food apps have now removed single-use plastic cutlery from their dine-in and delivery sections. A welcome step towards a sustainable future, many have happily accepted these changes and have even helped move a step forward by carrying metal straws or bamboo forks while traveling. However, if you forget to carry your own sustainable utensil, you are left at the mercy of paper straws, using which is a whole different story altogether. While they are highly beneficial for the environment unlike plastic straws, they do lose shape pretty fast and turn flimsy before you could even finish your drink. While this isn't the biggest concern compared to the harm plastic does, it might be slightly uncomfortable to sip your drink with paper straws on some occasions.
