Biryani is possibly one of the most popular Indian foods we can think of. Whether it is a Lucknowi biryani, Kolkata biryani or Hyderabadi biryani - we just love this dish in all its forms. If you explore in-depth, you will find each of these biryanis comes with a unique flavour profile and very distinct character (and texture). However, our love for biryani holds no distinction! Aromatic rice with juicy chunks of meat infused in a pool of spices, biryani spells indulgence. And what remains a constant with biryani is raita or chutney. Raita or chutney not only helps add flavour to your meal but also cleanses the palate at regular intervals. But, have you ever noticed that not all types of biryanis come with the same raita and chutney?! While Lucknowi biryani tastes the best with burani (garlic raita), Hyderabadi biryani is always paired with mirchi ka salan. Likewise, Karnataka-style biryani comes with a special biryani chutney that leaves us wanting more.
