They took multiple digs on the entrepreneur over Facebook's rising privacy concerns and the flak it was receiving for its business model. Zuckerberg made the announcement in a video shot at his home. While his home looked stunning, the eagle-eyed social media mandarins could help but notice something interesting in the background: a bottle of Barbecue sauce sitting on a bookshelf.
Many people wanted to know what was the purpose of keeping the bottle there and then themselves offered an explanation. Others said they were simply confused by this.
Some users dug out an old video of Zuckerberg seeming excited about the sauce.
Some others were curiously surprised that Zuckerberg, a billionaire, could not afford a bookend. “A Reddit user noticed the bottle of BBQ sauce at the upper right. Man, Mark Zuckerberg is a billionaire but couldn't afford a bookend,” said the user.
“Zuckerberg put that bottle of BBQ sauce on the background so that discussion of it would dominate your feed, instead of discussion of him being evil and stupid and evil,” said another.
