Looking for a quick and delicious snack in the kitchen? Our eyes always tend to linger around the loaf of bread. After all, bread toast is possibly one of the most common meals we can think of, especially during busy mornings or the sudden kick-in of hunger pangs. Right? While you can always toast bread slices with some butter, there is enough room for being creative with this dish. One of the most common variations of bread toast is chilli cheese toast. And, guess what? Our Shehzada aka Kartik Aaryan is also fond of these yummy cheesy delights. One of Kartik's friends Sudipan shared a snap of cheese chilli toast on Instagram. “Jab baat bhuk par aaye toh discussion nhi karte, chilli cheese toast order karte hain (When it comes to your hunger, you don't have discussions instead you straightaway order cheese chilli toast).”

Trust us, relishing a snack as good as chilli cheese toast is the perfect way to unwind this weekend after a long and hectic week. Bread slices, cut into two halves, toasted with some cheese and topped with chilli flakes on it - this simple snack spells indulgence. Already slurping? We completely relate with you. Here is a recipe which rightly caters to all your demands. 

Ingredients: 

Cheese (grated): 1 cup

Salt and chilli powder: 1 tsp

Coriander leaves: 1 tbsp

Green chillies (chopped) 

Baking powder: 1 tsp

Milk, as required

Bread slices: 6

Oil, for deep frying

Method:

Step 1: Mix cheese, salt, chilli powder, coriander, green chillies, baking powder and enough milk to make a thick batter. Whip it till it becomes light and smooth.

Step 2: Keep the batter aside in a cool place for at least 30 minutes. 

Step 3: Cut each slice of bread into halves. You can also remove the sides if you want. 

Step  4: Spread a generous amount of cheese mixture over the slices. 

Step 5: Heat some oil in a pan. Test it by throwing a little bit of the batter in it, if the ball of batter comes up at once, the oil is ready. 

Step 6: Drop the bread pieces coated with cheese mix into it. Make it crispy brown on both sides. 

Step 7: Serve hot with your favourite sauces.
