Her story states, "Drinking pomegranate juice during pregnancy may improve the infant brain".

The original post was shared by Dr. Rhonda Patrick - a renowned cell biologist. According to her post, women who drank eight ounces of pomegranate juice daily had infants with improved brain microstructural organisation and functional brain connectivity. It also helped the infants get better visual development compared to infants whose mothers drank "a matched calorie placebo drink". The findings were published in the journal PLOS One.

Pomegranate juice, berries, nuts and teas include polyphenols; and as per the study "polyphenols are known to cross the blood-brain barrier where they are neuroprotective. Pomegranate juice is particularly concentrated in them."
