TV actress Dipika Kakar is pregnant with her first child with her husband Shoaib Ibrahim. She has been sharing snippets from this new journey, much to the delight of her millions of followers. The 'Sasural Simar Ka' actress shared a new vlog on her YouTube channel in which she revealed that she has been diagnosed with gestational diabetes. The video is among the top trending videos on YouTube India and has raked in over 19 lakh views. Actress Dipika Kakar revealed that this condition is quite common in the third trimester and the tips she is using to tackle it.
Mom-to-be Dipika Kakar revealed that her first thought upon being diagnosed with gestational diabetes was what could possibly have gone wrong with her diet. "Maine zyada meetha toh nahi kha liya? Maine zyada aam ya chawal toh nahi kha liye, [Did I have too many sweets? Did I have too many mangoes or rice?]," she pondered in the video. She then explained that gestational diabetes is not because of the diet but mainly because of hormonal fluctuations which cause sugar levels to elevate, especially during weeks 24 to 28 of the pregnancy cycle.

The actress further revealed that gestational diabetes can be controlled through dietary interventions as advised by her doctor. "Mere liye abhi no sugar, no rice, no external sugar, fruit bhi sirf apple, pear hee kha sakti hu," she revealed in the vlog. "No dates, nothing meetha, no bread, no bakery. Toh yeh sare restrictions hum dhyaan mein rakhenge," added Dipika Kakar. She also mentioned that exercise is quite important to manage this condition, and the sooner you start the better it is!
