A passenger, travelling in the Kashi Express, has shared a picture of an insect spotted in the meal served by the pantry service. Parvez Hashmi has posted a picture of his food on X (formerly Twitter). In the post, shared on X (formerly Twitter), Parvez also tagged Union Minister of Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw. The photo, which is making rounds on the internet, shows a plate carrying rice next to a curry dish, prepared with some peas. The plastic spoon was used by the passenger to highlight the insect. Sharing the picture, he wrote, “Train no.15018 Kashi Express found an insect on food.”
In response to the post, the official X page of Railway Seva asked the passenger to share his details in a direct message. It wrote, “Sir, kindly share PNR and mobile number preferably in Direct Message (DM) - IRCTC Official.”
The picture has collected more than 736k views on the social media platform. People have criticised IRCTC for not maintaining food hygiene.
Earlier, Vande Bharat Express, running from Bhopal to Delhi came under the limelight, after a passenger claimed to have found a cockroach in his meal. Subodh Pahalajan, on X (formerly Twitter), shared a series of pictures of his meal. In one of the frames, we can see an insect stuck to the paratha. Tagging the official X pages of IRCTC and Divisional Railway Manager- Mumbai Division of Western Railway, Subodh wrote, “IRCTC found a cockroach in my food, in the Vande Bharat train.” He also added the hashtags, “Delhi” and “RKMP” (Rani Kamalapati railway station).
In the comment section, IRCTC officials assured that the appropriate action would be taken against the incident.
It wrote, “We did not intend for this unpleasant experience. Appropriate actions will be taken to ensure that such incidents will not be repeated. Request you to share PNR and mobile number preferably in Direct Message (DM) with us.”
