Who doesn't love long road trips? In fact, travelling the world after retirement might top the bucket list for many. But, finding meals accustomed to your taste buds is something that every traveller struggles with on a road trip. Well, one such retired couple seems to have come up with a perfect solution for all the foodies embarking on a journey—kitchen on wheels. The couple shared a video on their Instagram page called Retired Punjabi, wherein they can be seen giving a tour of their makeshift kitchen in a car. The clip opens with the man saying, “Hum hain retired couple aur humne shuru ki hai apne life ki second inning. [We are a retired couple and we have started the second inning of our life].” In the narration, he also revealed that the two have embarked on a 52-day road trip from Delhi to Kanyakumari. He said, “Aur hum nikle hue hain 52 din ke road trip par Delhi se Kanyakumari.”

So as a part of their road trip, they made a quick pit stop on Aurangabad highway to prepare their lunch. What are they making? Aloo vadi chawal. In the video, he added, “Aaj apni camper van mein lunch mein bana rahe hain aloo vadi chawal Aurangabad highway par. Ek imli ke ped ki chhaaon mein, aur kar rahe hain apni life ko enjoy.” The video shows the wife showing chopped vegetables, which she stored in a container. Then she starts cooking the aloo gravy dish on a stove, kept in one of the drawers of their makeshift kitchen. We can also see the husband helping his wife in peeling a chopping cucumber. Once their lunch was ready, they could be seen relishing it on a foldable dining table and chairs.
The comments section was flooded with countless users calling the retired couple their inspiration. Several users wished to lead a life like them once they retired. In fact, many celebrities also acknowledged the post. F.I.R. actress Kavita Kaushik commented, “Proud of you! Inspiring…more power and love to you both.”
