Back in the day, we had to go out to eat our favourite meal at a restaurant. But now, with the introduction of food delivery apps, we can just order with a few taps on our phone and have it brought right to our door. Getting our favourite food delivered is as easy as pie, but there was quite a stir among customers online when the online food delivery service Swiggy called Tuesday evening a “peak delivery hour”. It all started when a customer from Delhi spoke up about the delay in receiving his food order.

On Reddit, the user shared a screenshot of his chat with a Swiggy customer service representative and asked about the delay in his order. Their response stated, "As it is a weekend peak hour, the restaurant is facing heavy demand due to which there is a slight delay in your order. Request you to wait for some time and the order will be delivered to you at the earliest.” The surprised customer responded, “Dude, it is Tuesday.” He captioned the post, “This agent thinks Tuesday 5 PM is weekend peak.” After all, since when did Tuesday start feeling like a weekend?

A user complained, “Once Swiggy made me wait five hours for my food and delivered it at 2 AM. I'd already ordered from Zomato by then since Swiggy was neither ready to accept their mistake nor refund my money.”
