The unexplained weather phenomenon is becoming quite common all over the world. We have seen untimely monsoon showers as well as extreme heatwaves happening in different parts of the world that are not a part of the normal course of weather. The residents of a Portuguese town named Sao Lorenco De Bairro were also witness to a similar bizarre incident recently. Although it seemed like a weather abnormality, it was actually something different. As per a report by the New York Post, the streets of the Portuguese town were flooded with red wine after an accident at a distillery. Take a look at the video here:

Videos and photos showed red wine flowing through the streets of Sao Lorenco de Bairro, much to the surprise of its 2,000 residents and other passers-by. The incident happened in the municipality of Anadia, Portugal when barrels carrying nearly 6 lakh gallons of liquor collapsed and broke. The leak was so large that it could have filled an Olympic-size swimming pool. In fact, as per ANI, it even flooded the basement of a residence near the distillery.
An environmental alert was issued and authorities jumped into action to divert the wine into a nearby field. This was done by the Anadia Fire Department so that the nearby Certima River would stay unpolluted by the wine discharge.
A number of reactions poured into the news of the Portuguese town being flooded with red wine. Some lamented the huge loss for the wine-making company. Others saw the funny side of things and wrote, "They should declare a town holiday immediately!"
