The original video of the prank was shared on YouTube in 2013 by an account named CarrieNYC. Recently, a Twitter (now known as X) account, named @DailyLoud, reshared it on the platform. Since the time it was posted, it has received over 6.4 million views and 92.6k likes.
"What if telekinesis was real? How would you react? Our hidden camera experiment captures the reactions of unsuspecting customers at a New York City coffee shop as they witness a telekinetic event," read the caption of the video.
In the video, we could see people sitting at the coffee shop and enjoying their time together. The stuntman acted as a barista who spilt coffee on a woman's laptop. The woman became angry and pretended to throw him up a wall using her telekinesis powers, leaving everyone shocked. Then, she further acted like she was moving the tables and chairs with her mind without even touching them.
As per a LADBible report, this was a prank orchestrated to promote a movie named 'Carrie'. The entire coffee shop was set up by the pranksters including a fake wall with a pulley, remote-controlled tables and chairs and spring-loaded books and pictures. Hidden cameras were installed to capture the reactions of the customers who were in for a surprise.
A number of internet users too reacted to the video of the prank by the coffee shop. Take a look:
