Dos By Tres Is The Perfect Place To Enjoy Global Street Food With An Irresistible Twist
Dos by Tres

Have you been to Tres in Lodhi? If you have, I am sure you love the place, not just for its delicious food but also the ambience and hospitality. Dos is the latest culinary marvel from the minds behind the award-winning Tres. Chefs Jatin Mallick and Julia Carmen Desa have once again redefined the city's dining scene with this imaginative venture. Their aim? To elevate global street food, infusing it with a touch of haute cuisine while maintaining a relaxed, vibrant atmosphere.

I am a fan of Tres's food, so when I was invited to visit Dos, I couldn't miss the opportunity. Dos had a more casual, cafe-like vibe if we compare it to Tres - it looked like a great place for a more relaxed outing. What intrigued me the most was its concept. Dos is a celebration of duality. The restaurant's split-level design is a visual representation of this concept. Downstairs, a deconstructed colonial aesthetic blends seamlessly with contemporary vibrancy, while an al fresco area offers an escape into nature. Upstairs, a quieter, lounge-like ambience invites guests to unwind. Curated modern art and a striking wall sculpture of traditional crockery further emphasise the restaurant's fusion ethos.

Dos is a chameleon, effortlessly transforming throughout the day. Whether you're craving a leisurely breakfast, a casual lunch, or a late-night hangout, this versatile space has you covered. The ambience, even the artwork, shifts with the changing hours, creating distinct experiences for morning, afternoon, and evening -  the windows of the brick walls open for darker views during the night.

The heart of Dos, however, lies in its food. The menu is a global passport, taking diners on a culinary adventure without leaving Delhi. Familiar flavours are reimagined and married in unexpected ways, defying geographical boundaries.

I began my lunch with a refreshing Cold Pressed Green Juice, the perfect palate cleanser. The Smokey Chipotle Prawns were a standout appetizer, with the sweetness of the yellow peas and the crunch of the crispy onions complementing the prawns perfectly. While the Crispy Fish Chipotle was also enjoyable, the prawns stole the show.

The Veg Flaky pizza was a delightful surprise. I could not believe how potatoes surprisingly tasted so good on a pizza. The topping had a hint of sweetness (I think from red onions), which was a welcome change from the usual, done-to-death pizzas. But the highlight was the pizza base. It resembled an Indian kulcha. Then I got to know the pizzas at Dos were made with potato-fermented dough, giving them a unique texture and taste. Interesting!

Another dish I really liked was Prawns, Calamari, Crispy Fish Rice Bowl. If you are thinking that's quite a variety of ingredients in a bowl, wait for more! It also contained broccoli, salsa, edamame, spinach and a flavourful seasoning. What a satisfying bowl it was.

But obviously, there was some space left in my stomach for desserts. Banana ice cream was a simple but delightful dessert. Mango coconut rum tiramisu melted my heart with its drool-worthy flavours.
