There's something so enticing about smoky, grilled food that we Indians simply can't resist. Whether it's the tempting flavours of the Tandoor or the earthy notes of the Tawa - we have always enjoyed these unique treats as part of our meals. A new restaurant in Delhi NCR is now catering to our love for smoky flavours and reinventing them in an interesting new avatar. 'The Pit' is the latest addition to the capital city's vibrant list of restaurants. Located in the bustling Priya Complex in Vasant Vihar, it has quickly become a hot favourite among the city's diners.
A rustic space with chic interiors and a touch of greenery, The Pit has a comforting and charming vibe. The aroma of succulent meats being smoked instantly whets your appetite and gets you salivating. The unique part about The Pit is that it grills all its artisanal meats in a 7 feet-by-3 feet smoker pit. Quality meats are smoked and prepared over a longer period, which imparts an authentic western-style grilled flavour.
We started off our meal with the Roasted Sesame Salad and two Bruschettas - the Tomato & Bocconcini Bruschetta, and the Bell Pepper and Mushroom Bruschetta. Both the dishes were prepared with attention to detail and gave an amazing start to our meal. Then, we moved on to the sides including Mac n Cheese and Paprika Pineapple. Our favourite of the two was the Mac n Cheese - indubitably addictive!
For mains, we tried the signature Smoked Butter Garlic Prawns - a delicious dish that was the highlight of our meal. The Lamb Chops and Pork Belly followed soon after and were served with mushy peas and mashed potatoes on the side. We also sampled the Pork Bangers which were the special in-house sausages.

In the herbivore section, we tried the scrumptious Black Bean Burger that was oozing with cheese and was served with a small salad and fries. In desserts, the trademark Tiramisu was our top pick. The creamy dish brought a fulfilling end to our indulgent meal!
