To begin with the recipe, marinate mutton with ginger garlic paste, curd and all the dry spices except whole spices. Then heat oil in a pan, add whole spices and sliced onion. Cook onion until crisp and golden to the perfection.

Once done, add tomatoes along with marinated mutton pieces and water then pressure cook until one whistle on high heat. After that, open the cooker and simmer for next 10-15 minutes.

Now, add soaked basmati rice along with water, green chillies and coriander leaves. Close the pressure cooker once again until 2-3 whistles. Once done, serve and enjoy with chutney and salan.

Point to remember: Do not add much water otherwise your biryani will turn out soggy. Add water only as required.
