Does ragi increase blood sugar?
Ragi is rich in fibre, making it extremely healthy and nutritious. It is a good substitute for white rice and wheat. Diabetics are often advised to consume it as it helps in managing blood sugar levels. The presence of dietary fibre helps in keeping you full for a longer period of time.
Ragi Idli Recipe: How To Make Ragi Idli
First, take a pan and dry roast sooji for 2-3 minutes on medium flame. Allow it to cool. Take a big mixing bowl, transfer sooji in this bowl, add ragi, yogurt, coriander leaves and salt. Mix all the ingredients, add water little by little until you get a smooth batter. Keep it aside for 20 minutes.
Now, take the batter and add a pinch of baking soda. Take a tray out of your idli steamer, grease it with some oil. Pour the idli batter into the moulds carefully. Place it in the steamer and steam it for 6-7 minutes. After steaming is done, allow it to cool for 2-3 minutes, then start de-moulding. Rava idli is ready!
