In a recent update, the price of Amul milk has raised by Rs. 2 per litre, across all variants. These new prices have been applicable from today (June 3, 2024), in all the markets of the country, reads a report in PTI. The report further states that the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), which markets the milk and dairy products under the brand 'Amul', explained this step to be the result of overall cost inflation of operation and production of milk.

Jayen Mehta, MD at GCMMF, while talking about the price hike, informed that the brand had earlier increased milk price in February 2023. "The hike is necessitated to compensate farmers for their increased cost of production," he added.

What Is The New Price List Of Amul MIlk:

1. 500ml Amul buffalo milk now stands at Rs. 36.

2. 500ml Amul Gold milk now stands at Rs. 33.

3. 500ml Amul Shakti milk now stands at Rs. 30.

4. 500ml Amul Taaza now stands at Rs. 28.

5. 500ml Amul Slim n Trim now stands at Rs. 25.

"The increase of Rs. 2 per litre translates to the range of 3-4 per cent increase in MRP which is much lower than the average food inflation," reads an official statement released by GCMMF.

Amul further informed that as a policy, they pass on almost 80paise of every rupee a customer pays for the brand's milk and milk products to the producer. Hence, this price revision comes as a step to encourage the milk producers for better sustenance and higher milk production, read the statement.
