Bonding over food is perhaps the best way to forge a cordial relationship with someone. The Uttar Pradesh Police Department has adopted a similar approach. They have launched a new cafe to connect with the public. The noble culinary venture underlines the fact that people in uniform are no different. Cafe Rista is one such eatery that follows a similar principle. The nitty-gritty of the place, renovated for a cause, has been demonstrated in detail in a video shared on Instagram by @noidagram.

Located within the Police Commissionerate of Noida in Sector 108, Cafe Rista welcomes diners to pastel-hued, cosy interiors. The place boasts “incredible taste, quality, and affordability - all managed by the Noida Police and open to everyone.” The idea first struck the mind of IPS officer Preeti Yadav. Emphasising the concept, she said that the initiative was taken to bridge the gap between the police and the public. “People often view police with apprehension forgetting we're simply people in uniform,” she said.
If you have a soft spot for cheesy pizzas, stuffed sandwiches, soft paranthas, and a cup of brewing hot coffee, Cafe Rista is your place to be. Some other delectable delights that can tantalise your tastebuds include crispy samosas, crunchy French Fries, golden-brown pav bhajis, tasty Hakka Noodles, Maggi, gooey pasta, stuffed burgers, and refreshing cold beverages. Dining at this budget-friendly cafe will cost approximately Rs 200 (two people). What's more, there are special menus available too. The cafe authorities believe that “every cup serves the community”.

Preeti Yadav continued that people are also inspired by their Bollywood-themed posters, featuring films and characters that pay homage to the “silver screen's portrayal of law and order”. The official X-handle of the UP Police offered a detailed visual tour inside Cafe Rista. Their motto? “Merging Mochas and Mediation”. Take a look:
Cafe Rista is located close to the Family Dispute Resolution clinic or the Counselling and Mediation Centre of the Commissionerate. The interior setting serves as a welcome relief to those seeking counselling sessions. In the video, they share that “police officers, often hesitant to dine publicly due to uniforms and irregular hours, now have a cosy cafe in their premises to enjoy with their families. This initiative supports their well-being under a welfarist policing approach.”
Foodies heaped praise on the noble initiative in the comment section. “Awesome. Great thought,” exclaimed one user. Lauding Preeti Yadav's plan, a person wrote, “No words for you ma'am”. Another called the dishes a “must-try”. Others simply dropped multiple red heart emojis.
