There's something addictive about this uncomplicated dish that makes us fall for it time and again. Whether you are having it as is or pairing it with burgers and sandwiches - French fries define indulgence. That's not all. Today, you will also find various kinds of French fries recipes at every fast-food joint - cheesy French fries, peri peri French fries, masala French fries and more. We recently came across this restaurant in the United States, which took their experimentation with French fries a notch above. They prepared world's most expensive French fries that cost almost Rs. 15k for a single portion. Yes, you read that right!
Fast food restaurant Serendipty3 in Manhattan, New York, recently made it to the Guinness World Records by cooking up the 'ultimate' cheesy French fries - Creme de la Creme Pomme Frites. According to a report in the Guinness World Records official website, "Valued at $200 USD, Creative Chef, Joe Calderone, and Corporate Executive Chef, Fredrick Schoen-Kiewert, whipped up the new food item to provide guests with a unique and delicious French fry experience."
What goes into making this record-breaking French fries? As per a post on Serendipty3's Instagram, it is made with "upstate Chipperbeck potatoes, Dom Perignon Champagne and J. LeBlanc French Champagne Ardenne Vinegar, Guerande truffle salt, Urbani summer truffle oil and topped with shaved Crete Senesi Pecorino Tartufello", and of course, 23k edible gold dust. That's not all. These exquisite French fries are served on high-quality crystal plates, with matching bowl to carry the Mornay Sauce for dipping the golden fries into. Sounds delicious, right?
This achievement came after reopening the restaurant on the first week of July. Due to the ongoing pandemic, it was closed for public since 2020.
"We are so honoured to be recognized by Guinness World Records for our creation of the world's most expensive French fries, the Creme de la Creme Pommes Frites, and look forward to creating even more over-the-top recipes in the future," stated Creative Director of Serendipity3, Chef Joe Calderone, according to the Guinness World Records official website.
For the unversed, this is not the first world record for the restaurant. Earlier, they had set records for creating dishes like most expensive milkshake, most expensive sandwich and most expensive dessert.
