Passengers often share their experiences aboard different trains of the Indian Railways on social media. Some of them, often pointing out flaws or problems, take the internet by storm. This, in turn, has prompted the authorities to respond and try to address the issue, if any. Recently, a balanced review of several aspects of a Vande Bharat Express by a traveller from Kolkata went viral on X (formerly Twitter). Let us first consider what she had to say about the food. She called the snacks offered onboard train "average" and "same as Shatabdi (another type of train). In the picture, one can see packets of what looks to be Diet Chivda Mixture, Roasted Peanut Chikki and a snack inside a paper bag. There's also a packet of Instant Tea Premix.

As for the dinner, she declared it "decent" and said that it "was warm as well." In the photo, one can spot dal, rice, chapatis, some kind of curry and sabzi. There's a portion of dahi (curd) provided too. Later, she got ice cream, which she also called "decent".

The X user went on to showcase other aspects of the train, including the automatic doors and instructions translated into Braille. She pointed out that "the window shields don't block sunlight." Thus, she had to use her denim jacket to protect her face from the harsh sunlight.
However, one feature that impressed her the most was the washrooms. She wrote, "The washroom truly is the best (I have seen) in a train. Both Indian and Western-style toilets are available complete with hand wash dispensers and automatic hand dryers. The flush surprisingly works well."
The thread on X has over 1 million views so far. Many X users also shared their own comments and experiences in reply to her review. Read some of the reactions below:
