Think of a space which you love to unwind in. It could be a well-lit, quiet reading corner of your room, or a green balcony area with strong, refreshing gushes of wind. There's something so meditative and therapeutic about these spaces that needs to be experienced personally to be truly understood. Roasted by Roseate in Vasant Kunj, New Delhi is the newest entrant on the block which we guarantee will rejuvenate you instantly. Nestled in a quiet nook of the bustling area of South Delhi, the Patisserie-cum-Cafe is a must-visit for all foodies for reasons manifold.
Soft lights, warm interiors and a comfortable seating are what make Roasted a relaxing environment, instantly putting our worries at ease. The staff has ensured proper hygiene and sanitation, and is also coming up with an outdoor seating soon. Chef Nitin and Sahil both have curated a fantastic selection of food and drinks at the eatery. There is also a co-working space called 'Upstage' right next to the Cafe, for those who want to catch up on work while digging into delicious goodies.
The Cafe has an eclectic and interesting selection of items to offer on its menu. We chose to try their classic latte, Chamomile tea and Masala chai from the beverage section. The Cauli Hummus Bowl was a ravishing new dish featuring cauliflower hummus made with mashed cauliflower, turmeric, special Argentenian Chimmichuri dressing, and pickled vegetables served along with Pita bread. We also tried the Pumpkin Arancini, which were crispy Italian-style fritters filled with roasted pumpkin, Arborio rice and cheese on a tomato-basil Sugo. Both the dishes fared well in terms of appearance, taste and satiation.
Somehow a good meal always feels incomplete without bread, and Roasted surely lived up to the mark in that respect. Toasted multigrain Sourdough bread was accompanied with a generous smattering of smashed peas with mint and chilli marinated Feta. Every bite of the dish was satisfying, as were the edible flowers and microgreens which garnished the dishes; making it worthy of the 'gram.
Next, we tried the Pera Pinsa, which is a roman-style flatbread made with rice, soy and wheat flour. The menu suggests that it is naturally low fat and easy to digest. The Pera flatbread was topped with pear, brie cheese, walnut, rocket, and balsamic vinegar - a unique combination which we will definitely want to visit again for.
