Navratri is one of the most widely celebrated Hindu festivals in India and is observed with great devotion and joy. Chaitra Navratri began on March 19 and will conclude on March 27. A traditional sattvik Navratri diet includes foods such as sabudana (sago), buckwheat flour (kuttu ka atta), water chestnut flour (singhare ka atta), and barnyard millet (samak rice). Regular table salt is replaced with rock salt (sendha namak).
