India is famous for its varied street food. No matter which part of India you're in, you will always find a massive variety of mouth-watering street foods. The unique texture and taste makes it stand out in a crowd of other street food dishes. Although, it tastes utterly amazing, it is not a very healthy option. Try this recipe to make some heavenly-tasting Tandoori Masala Soya Chaap:
Ingredients:
1 packed or canned Soya Chaap
1 bowl of curd
1 finely sliced onion
2-3 tsp of coriander leaves
2-4 tsp of fresh milk cream
2-3 tsp melted butter
Spices:
- Salt as per preference
- 1/2 tsp of black pepper powder
- 1/2 turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp of red chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp chaat masala
- 1/2 tsp cumin/ jeera powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
How to Prepare:
Mix the Ingredients: In a big bowl, pour curd and add all the other spices. At this stage, you can add food colouring to give it the street food-like colour (optional). On the side, remove the soya chaap sticks out of the chaap, wash it and chop the chaap into smaller pieces. Add the chaap into the mixture bowl and let it marinate in it for at least 30-45 minutes.
Cook the chaap: After the chaap has been sitting for some time, take it out and mix it well. Now you can cook the chaap in two ways- you can either place the pieces on a skewer and cook it directly on heat (gas) like a tandoor or add some oil/butter in a pan and cook it on that. Take them off when they turn black on the edges.
Dressing: To finish this recipe, transfer the cooked chaap pieces in a bowl. Add the finely sliced onion, coriander, cream, butter and some of the spices to season.
Serve: Place the delicious tandoori masala soya chaap on a plate and serve it with green chutney and some thinly sliced onions.
