Janamashtami 2022: Hindus are celebrating Janamashtami today and tomorrow (19th August). Considered as one of the most auspicious days of the year, this festival marks the birth of Lord Krishna. Many of them also observe fast to show devotion towards Lord Krishna on this special day. Considering this, here we bring you a vrat-special tikki recipe. It is called Farali Aloo Tikki. This recipe is ideal for snacking while on vrat. It is light, flavourful and very delicious to have.

This tikki is made with boiled aloo, kuttu flour, some spices, mint leaves and coriander leaves. It is further topped with curd and red chilli powder. Made with easily available ingredients and the most versatile aloo, this vrat-friendly aloo recipe brings just the variety you need in your vrat meal. So, without much ado, let's head straight into the recipe.

To start with the recipe, mash the potatoes in a bowl. Then, add kuttu flour, rock salt, cumin powder, and black pepper. Knead the mixture properly.

In a separate bowl, add curd, rock salt, cumin powder, and whisk well. Keep aside.

Now, heat a kadhai with oil for deep frying. Take out a little portion of the dough; roll it out in a round shape. Press it with your palm. Repeat the process with the remaining mixture.

Once done, add tikkis to the kadhai and wait until crisp and golden. Take them out on a plate, pour whisked dahi, sprinkle coriander leaves and red chilli powder.
