Navratri 2016: A Special Menu for Day 2
Navratri can be a tricky time for those who are new to fasting. What to eat, what not to eat, when to eat: these are all questions you call up your mother and ask through the day. Now for the good news: We consulted with Dr. Rupali Dutta, Chief Clinical Nutritionist, Fortis Hospital, who helped us design not one, but five days' menus with really easy recipes for you to follow.The first fast is always much harder because your body's used to a certain amount of food at regular intervals. Keeping that in mind, we had shared a plan with six small meals: Here, you can check it out for yourself. On the second day, we're about to make some changes. Vegetables are your friend today so add cucumber, celery (kakdi), tomatoes, baby spinach, carrots, beetroot and salads to your diet. You're allowed to eat all kinds of vegetables during Navratri but the best way to have them is as a salad. They become a rich source of fiber, vitamins, minerals and are even hydrating.

Day 2 MenuEarly Morning:Start your day with some warm honey lemonade and fresh fruits.
Breakfast:

For breakfast, make yourself a delicious and easy Singhara Atta Papdi Chaat with some chilled Aam Panna, a refreshing summer drink made with jeera and mint leaves.
Lunch:Grate some pumpkin, potatoes and singhara atta to make fabulous golden brown Kaddu ke Pakode. Dip them in freshly made mint chutney and a glass of salty lassi

Evening Snack:
Make yourself thin and crisp Singhare Atte ki Matthi with some hung curd dip whipped with coriander and chilli.

Aloo ki Kadhi, which is a light curry made with potatoes and singhara atta, accompanied with the Navratri quintessential, Kuttu ka Parantha

Bedtime:
A lukewarm cup of milk before sleeping will help you get a good night's rest.
