We are pretty sure half of you were skeptical, only until you actually tried it and fell in love with the combination. Kulfi-falooda is, in fact, a relatively new and interesting spin on falooda. Traditionally, falooda is a loaded drink-cum-dessert that is made with thickened milk, basil seeds, vermicelli and rose syrup. It may or may not have ice cream, it is a very popular Iftar staple as it is also considered refreshing and wholesome. Falooda has Persian origins, where it was called Faloodeh. Falooda is popular across many countries and has seen many variations. The sweet, fragrant tone of the rose syrup mixed with creamy ice cream spells ultimate indulgence. It is very easy to make at home and is just ideal for the scorching heat we are all struggling to come to terms with.

With this recipe video of falooda by NDTV Food, you can make this delish drink at home today without much effort. All you need is milk, cooked vermicelli, soaked basil seeds or sabja seeds that are popular for their health benefits like aiding digestion, boosting immunity etc. Along with this, you would also require two scoops of vanilla ice cream (or more), rose syrup and sugar. All these ingredients are easily available in local grocery stores and dairy.

Here's what you would be required to do:

1. Start with heating milk in a pan, add sugar and let it come to a boil.
2. Add rose syrup and mix until the milk obtains a beautiful pink hue.
3. Let it cool.
4. Take a glass and start assembling the falooda. Add some rose syrup.
5. Add some basil seeds, followed by cooked vermicelli.
6. Now add rose-flavoured milk you just boiled.
7. Finish it off with vanilla ice cream scoops and more rose syrup (for we just cannot get enough of it).
