What is the first instinct you get when it starts raining? We are sure it would be to make a hot cup of tea and pair it with some delectable snack while gazing at and appreciating the marvel of the beautiful weather. There's always those fries pakodas and French fries that you love to munch on while sipping your tea. But, if you are looking for something healthier and different, this aloo chana chaat is a must-try. An amalgamation of aloo chaat and chana chaat, this snack is a wholesome small meal that will fill you up and bring pleasure to your taste buds as well.
Protein-rich kabuli chana (chickpeas) and potatoes (our favourite snacking food) are marinated together with a range of spices like cumin powder, amchoor powder, ginger and more. Also add coriander leaves and lemon juice, and let the chana and aloo absorb the flavours for just 15 minutes. Serve the chaat with a side of chopped tomatoes, sauteed green chillies and lemon wedges for a delightful snacking platter that your family can enjoy as a tea-time monsoon snack. Sauteing green chillies will take about only 2 minutes and you'll see it tastes way better than raw chillies.
The recipe was shared by food vlogger Manjula Jain on her YouTube channel 'Manjula's Kitchen' and we found it right in time when the weather is gradually changing with occasional showers. This tangy and creamy protein-rich chaat is perfect to satiate your evening hunger this monsoon.
