For the uninitiated, chicken lababdar is a traditional Mughlai dish that can easily be considered a distant cousin of butter chicken. The recipes for both the dishes are almost same; but what makes them different from each other is the quantity and ratio of the ingredients. Chicken lababdar includes smooth and rich tomato-based gravy and can be paired with rice, roti or paratha for a lavish meal. This recipe has been shared by vlogger Vipin Singh on his YouTube channel 'Food Fatafat'.

How To Make Restaurant-Style Chicken Lababdar:

Step 1. Add curd, chilli powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder and salt to the chicken pieces and marinate. Let it rest for 30 minutes.

Step 2. Heat a pan and pour sufficient water in it. Add garlic, ginger, green chilli, cashew nuts and onions and boil for 2-3 minutes.

Step 3. Strain the water and make paste out of the boiled veggies. Do not throw the water.

Step 4. Heat oil in a pan and add whole garam masala to it. Also, add the onion in the pan and cook till the onions release oil.

Step 5. Add coriander powder, Kashmiri red chilli powder and garam masala powder in it and cook everything together.

Step 6. Add tomato puree and salt and mix. Pour the marinated chicken in the spice-mix.

Step 7. Mix everything well and add water. Use the leftover water from Step 3. Close the lid and let it cook for 15 minutes.

Step 8. Open the lid and add cream and kasoori methi to it and mix.

And a delicious bowl of chicken lababdar is ready to be relished.
