Food vlogger Ananya Banerjee shared the recipe of veg chowmein on her YouTube channel by the same name. She replicated the famous chowmein of Chinatown restaurant in Kolkata, and we were surprised to see how incredibly easy the recipe was.

Veg Chowmein Recipe I How To Make Kolkata's Veg Chowmein At Home

Here's the step-by-step recipe for you to try at home: 

1.Cook noodles in water for 2-3 minutes. Do not overcook. Take it out and strain, and run it under cold water. Then add some oil and mix evenly.

2. Saute chopped onions, chopped ginger, chopped garlic, chopped green chillies and green chilli paste. Combine well. 

3. Add veggies like cabbage, capsicum and carrots. Toss on high heat till almost cooked. Add tomato sauce, green chilli sauce, soy sauce, black pepper powder, and mix well.

4. Add in the cooked noodles and mix well. Also mix in some sugar, vinegar, spring onion greens, coriander leaves and salt to taste. Garnish again with spring onion and coriander leaves, and serve hot.
