People often make health resolutions in 2023, but here are some you should avoid.

Highlights

  • People often make new diet resolutions in the beginning of the year
  • They plan to get fit quickly or lose weight faster in the new year
  • Here are the new year resolutions best avoided in 2023

The new year 2023 has begun, and like every year, the buzz around fitness is at an all-time high. We all pledge to stick to a healthy diet, avoid junk food and get fit and healthy when the new year begins. These new year resolutions are easier made than followed, which is why we all tend to go back to our old habits in a matter of a few days. But why not avoid making such resolutions in the first place and save on the guilt, right? Celebrity nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar took to Instagram to share three health resolutions that are best avoided in 2023. Take a look:

The video was shared by Rujuta Diwekar on Instagram on Wednesday. It received over 748k views and 32k likes. In the video, she explained how people often make extreme resolutions to get healthy in a short span of time. Thus, they end up over-promising and finally crash back into their old lifestyle.

Here Are The 3 Resolutions For 2023 That Celebrity Nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar Suggested Avoiding:

1. I will go off carbs/sugar/dairy

Celebrity nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar suggested that it was best not to cut out entire food groups from the diet in a bid to get fitter. This would only make the cravings worse and prove detrimental to health in the long run. Rather, healthy and home-cooked food should be eaten in a sustainable manner without resorting to extremes.

2. I will exercise every day

We often promise ourselves that we will exercise every day, the minute that the new year 2023 begins. However, every day is a very large target as per Diwekar. Rather than this, she suggested trying to exercise for three days every week and gradually building it up from there.

3. I will set a weight loss target of 10/15/20 kgs

It is quite easy to set a target for yourself to lose any random number of kilos in a given time. However, the celebrity nutritionist said that weight loss is not about target weight but about consistent effort. "Go off extremes, make a structured and sensible exercise plan," she suggested in the caption.
