Actor Shahid Kapoor, who is still riding high on the success of 'Kabir Singh' last year's biggest blockbuster, is in Chandigarh to shoot for his next film 'Jersey'. Shahid would be seen essaying the role of a cricketer in the movie that also stars actress Mrunal Thakur in lead. Jersey is a remake of a 2019 Telugu movie of the same name. Interestingly, 'Kabir Singh' was also a remake of 'Arjun Reddy', a 2017 Telugu blockbuster featuring actor Vijay Deverakonda. Shahid is working very hard to prep for the role - he is training to get his cricketing shots right and also keeping an eye on his diet. On his birthday eve; however, Kapoor decided to let loose a bit and decided to celebrate his 39th birthday with his family. The pictures and videos that have surfaced on the Internet show an excited Kapoor cutting his birthday cake with wife Mira Kapoor and father Pankaj Kapur. Mira Kapoor especially flew from Mumbai a couple of days back to be with the actor for his special day.

The cake seemed to be of red velvet flavour; it was embossed by edible flowers and fruits. Shahid, clad in a casual red and black onesie, cut a two-tier cake in Chandigarh. Shahid has confessed in many interviews that he has a bit of a sweet tooth. We hope you get to indulge in all your favourite sweet treats for the day.
