Bhagyashree and her culinary hacks are our favourites. She often shares wonderful recipes with fans on Instagram that are not only healthy but also super-delicious. On Thursday (January 16), the actress showed viewers how to prepare tilgul. Tilgul, also known as Til Ladoo is a sesame-coated Indian candy. A staple for Makar Sankranti celebrations, tilgul is loaded with nutritional benefits. Ushering new beginnings this Makar Sankranti, Bhagyashree wrote on Instagram, “New beginnings also mean looking after your health better than yesterday. It's never too late to start. Til is known to be a superfood, especially eaten during winter. It has nutritional qualities to regulate blood pressure, improve bone and gut health and support immunity.”
The video accompanying the write-up shows Bhagyashree pouring sesame seeds into a pan. She roasts the seeds until light brown and allows them to cool on a plate. Next, Bhagyashree adds 1 tablespoon of ghee and 3-4 tablespoons of jaggery into a separate pan. She mixes them well, without pouring any water.

Bhagyashree recommends using an iron kadhai to increase the mineral benefits. After that, she heats the blend until light brown and they start forming heat bubbles. The sesame seeds are then added to the pan. The final step involves greasing a plate with butter, pouring the mix and gently rolling the mixture flat. Cut them in strips and enjoy.
According to Bhagyashree, sesame seeds are rich in iron, calcium and other minerals. Vitamin C and E in sesame seeds are great for your skin and hair as well.
