Buying fruits is an everyday task, whether it's from bustling supermarkets or humble roadside stalls. But, here is the twist - sometimes those fruits that look picture-perfect on the outside turn out to be disappointing once you slice into them. So, what is the secret to avoiding this fruit regret? Well, an Instagram reel is here to rescue all those who struggle with fruit selection. These simple tips claim to offer easy ways to decipher a fruit's quality by simply inspecting its outer appearance. But guess what? The internet does not seem to be extremely convinced as the comment section of this video is full of critical comments.
The video begins with a man sharing thoughts on selecting the right avocados. He demonstrates this by removing the stem from the first avocado, revealing a yellow inner surface, indicating its unripeness. The second avocado exposes a dark brown inner surface, signaling its spoilage. Finally, the third avocado's green inner part proves it to be perfectly ripe and ready to eat.
Moving on to melons, the process is straightforward. Checking the stem is the key: if it's green, the melon isn't ripe, but if it's dry, it's good to go. When it comes to pineapples, the selection is as simple as assessing the colour. Green pineapples are a no-go, while orange ones are perfectly ripe. Lastly, for watermelons, the man recommends looking for those with orange spots, larger webbing, and dry stems.

Another one added, “You really do it every time you buy it? Maybe the next person won't like to find the avocado touched.”
Someone joked, “Just imagine someone comes to the avocado store after you and realised that all avocados are checked.”
A person gave a new tip by writing, “If you just shake the avocado and hear the seed is loose, it's ready to eat... no need for this method.”
