Food delivery has proved to be a big boon in times of the pandemic. A few taps and clicks and a readymade, cooked meal with cutlery et al would be delivered to your doorstep. Food delivery executives have been counted among the essential frontline workers in these testing times. But a recent post by Swiggy proves that their role is not limited to delivery alone. Swiggy took to Instagram to share the story of a delivery person on their fleet who went over and above the call of duty to help save a man's life. Wondering how? Read on to know more.

Swiggy took to Instagram to narrate the heartwarming incident.

The incident narrated in Swiggy's post took place on 25th December 2021 in Mumbai. Colonel (Retd.) Mohan Malik fell seriously ill and had to be rushed to the hospital. However, there was heavy traffic that day and thus the commute was taking longer than usual. Malik's son was requesting two-wheelers and passers-by for help, but everyone refused except for one Swiggy delivery person - Mrunal Kirdat.

With the help of Kirdat, Malik was able to reach Lilavati Hospital quickly and get his treatment started. The Colonel was able to recover in a few weeks' time and expressed his gratitude for the Swiggy delivery man Kirdat who jumped in and helped at a critical moment. "All I could think about was the young boy who gave me a new lease of life. If not for him, I would have perhaps never been able to return to my loved ones," read the caption to the post.
