Sugar cravings can hit you out of nowhere, and sometimes it is so specific that you cannot help but go to a halwai to fix those cravings. But what if we tell you that so many of this mithais can be made at home, that too with basic ingredients that are available in our kitchen all the time? For instance, this atta peda. This simple sweet that you see across all major sweetmeat shops of the country, especially up north, is possibly one of the most uncomplicated recipes that takes less than 10 minutes to come together. Atta, sugar and ghee are the three ingredients you need to make this recipe, so what is it that is still holding you back?  Food vlogger and YouTuber Parul shows us how to make Halwai-style peda in the comfort of our house, and we cannot stop slurping.

Here's what you would be required to do:

1. Roast wheat flour in a pan on low flame until aromatic. Make sure you keep stirring.
2. Add ghee in batches, mix everything well. You have to keep stirring so that it is well combined. Mix on low flame only.
3. Keep mixing until it starts binding and the colour of your atta turns slightly brown.
4. Turn off the flame when golden brown.
5. Add milk powder, alternatively, you can use dry fruits powder too. Mix well.
6. Add cardamom powder, nutmeg (optional).
7. Add powdered sugar. If you do not have powdered sugar, take sugar in a blender and mix it until it is powdered, add that to the peda.
8.  Mix everything well. Add ghee if required.
9. Grease your palms , start preparing your pedas, give them any shape you desire. Repeat the same with remaining atta mix.
10. Coat the peda with sugar powder for the halwai-like look.
