Industrialist Harsh Goenka enjoys a huge fan following on Twitter. He stays connected with his followers by sharing his thoughts on various happenings in the country and around the world. One of his recent posts caught our attention, in which he talked about the most loved foods by people of the nation in the year 2021, and we are nodding in a 'yes'. Harsh Goenka shared a crisp list of the cuisines Indians preferred in 2021, along with a list of the most ordered foods, and also fruits and vegetables people ate the most. This list of foods resonated with all us foodies and we couldn't agree more with the food choices of the people in rest of the country.
In his Twitter post that was uploaded yesterday on 28th December, Harsh Goenka listed top 5 cuisines ordered in India - Indian, Pan Asian, Chinese, Mexican and Korean. Harsh wrote in the end of the post - "No real surprise anywhere, except Korean cuisine being popular!" This is actually true, as we saw Korean music, Korean shows and even Korean food gaining foothold in Indian's hearts.

Harsh Goenka also revealed the top most foods that were ordered in 2021. Biryani topped the list, followed by Samosa, Pav bhaji, Gulab jamun and Rasmalai. In fact, food delivery app Swiggy also confirmed this in its sixth annual StatEATstics report, that biryani was the most ordered dish for the 6th time in a row. The report also revealed that India ordered 115 Biryanis per minute in 2021. Read more about the report here.
Next, Harsh Goenka also stated the most-loved fruits and vegetables of the year, which were - tomato, banana, garlic, potato and whole red chilli. While these lists stated the most obvious choices to order and eat, 2021 also saw people at least searching for some out-of-the-ordinary food items and recipes. Google released its annual 'Year In Search' report and revealed that Enoki Mushroom was the most-searched food item in India on Google in 2021. Other foods included Banana bread, Modak and Methi Malai Matar, Chicken Soup and more. Click here to know more.
