To extent the list, here is another interesting recipe of tikki that is just not limited to snacks; this tikki can actually be had as a wholesome meal for breakfast too. Sooji is a common food that we use to prepare n number of breakfast dishes. Another food that we pick in the morning to make our meals is vermicelli or sewiyan (as we call it in Hindi). Both these popular foods come together to make this tikki that you can devour as it is for breakfast or evening snack, or even stuff it inside breads to make sandwich or burger.
Alpa Modi, a famous food vlogger, posted this recipe video on her YouTube channel 'Something's Cooking With Alpa'. The tikki recipe can help us present something different to our family during the ongoing lockdown when our meal options are confined to home-cooked food only.
To make this sooji and sewiyan tikki, mix beaten curd and sooji, add some water and almost-cooked vermicelli. Further add salt, jeera, ginger chilli garlic paste, rice flour, coriander, onions, carrots, peas, tomatoes, and make a paste. Grease your palms with some oil make small round discs out of the paste. Coat them with some semolina and shallow fry them till they turn light brown in colour. This non-fried tikki is healthier than your usual deep-fried tikkis with hardly any nutritional value.
