How To Make Pineapple Dal | Pineapple Dal Recipe

This recipe for pineapple dal was shared by an Instagram page that goes by the handle @naturallynidhi. To make it, you first need to soak the toor dal and then boil it in water with haldi and salt. Now, heat ghee in a pan and add cumin seeds, curry leaves, dried red chillies, hing, and ginger-garlic-green chilli paste. Saute for a minute, and then add in the tomatoes. Cook them for about 2 to 3 minutes. After this, add cubed pineapples along with red chilli powder and haldi. Saute well, add water, cover the pan with a lid, and cook for another 5 minutes. (This will help soften the pineapples and release their juice.) Mash the pineapple using the back of a spoon and add tamarind paste, boiled dal, and some more water. Finish with salt, garam masala, and jaggery as per your taste. Let this simmer on a medium flame for about 5 to 7 minutes, and garnish with chopped cilantro. You can add more water if needed. Top the dal with crackling ghee and jeera tadka. Your pineapple dal is ready to be savoured!
