It's the month of festivals and no festivities are complete without unabashed indulgence in food undertaken with a special helping of glee. Delhi is ideal for those who count themselves among food enthusiasts and the street food of the capital city is especially well known. From chaat to chhole bhature to parathas to kebabs and tikkas, and of course the kulfis and faloodas, Delhi's delights are aplenty and they promise to give you sudden and intense cravings, long after you've tasted them. This is particularly true for the food of Old Delhi or Purani Dilli. So to ring in the festivities, Punjab Grill has a limited edition menu that pays a delicious tribute to the culinary gems of old Delhi.

The restaurant has handpicked a number of iconic dishes that old Delhi has come to be known for, and given them its own twist. The menu has been curated by Chef Amitesh Virdi and has a mix of dishes that could be categorised as 'well-known' and 'not-so-popular'. From the chaats of old Delhi, the Kuliya Chaat is a must-try. The chaat comprises boiled chickpeas stuffed inside hollow slices of fruits like kiwi and watermelon and topped with some chaat masala and black pepper. Other than that, they have Dahi Waale Gol Gappe, Tawa Aloo Chaat and Fried Chicken Tikki with Hari Chutney. For the carnivores, the menu has melt-in-the-mouth Galouti Kebabs- tiny minced meat rounds served atop miniscule ulte tawe ka parathas.

The menu also features Sigri Roasted Chicken, Butter, which is a felicitous nod to the iconic butter chicken from Aslam Chicken Corner outside Jama Masjid. Spicy marinated chicken pieces are roasted until crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside and served in a river of melted butter. The Bedmi Puris with Kachaloo Subji is also present, as are the Fried Parathas from the legendary Parathe Waali Galli. The Fried Parathas are served with cooked bitter gourd or karela. Other notable items on the 'Tales of Purani Dilli' menu include Chhole Bhature, Bheja Masala (spicy cooked goat's brain) with Khamiri Roti, and Mutton Paya Curry. To finish off this satisfying gastronomic affair, you can order a rich and creamy Kulfi Falooda or indulge in the delicious Karachi Halwa.
