While creating our weight loss diet, all of us tend to focus on the three important meals of the day - breakfast, lunch and dinner. We usually forget about those times when hunger may strike in between the meals. Since, we don't have anything planned for those meals; we end up eating whatever we can grab. So, in the middle of our neatly crafted diet, comes in bags of chips, or plates of fries, to crumple it down for us. With winters in full bloom, make use of seasonal foods to turn your winter snacks healthier and weight-loss-friendly. Peas (or matar) is an unmissable food during winters. The bright green tiny balls make their way into most of our meals, then why not snacks?
Peas have a neutral flavour, which can go well with almost all other foods. 'Healing Foods' book by DK Publishing House, states, "peas are extremely rich in fibre that help in maintaining a healthy digestive tract. As peas take long to break down, they produce a feeling of satiety for a long time, revving up weight loss." Peas are also a great source of plant-based proteins, making them one formidable winter food that is a must-have in our weight loss diet.
