There's something about home-cooked food that no matter how much we gorge on restaurant curries, we get back to our classic ghar ka khana soon after. The nation-wide lockdown is giving us enough time to relish all of the delicious, wholesome homemade treats that we otherwise might miss in the rush. And our favourite celebs are no different. From Karisma Kapoor's south-Indian breakfast attempt to Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh's Asian dinner at home, celebrities are bingeing on home cooked food like nothing else. And amid all this, our binge queen Shilpa Shetty isn't far behind. Even though she's one of the fittest actors in town, Shilpa has time and again confessed her love for food and cooking. And this quarantine period is giving her immense time to explore her culinary prowess.
After cooking a balance of flavour and health with homemade pasta a while back, Shilpa Shetty recently took to Instagram to share her homemade healthy breakfast and an even more nutritious lunch. She posted a picture of rava idli with coconut chutney along with a bowl of nuts and dry fruits, including figs, walnuts and soaked and peeled almonds. The meal was surely a wholesome one with the goodness of rava or semolina, coconut and nuts.
It was followed by a wholesome lunch, including what looked like jowar roti, chole, gobhi-gajar, kaddu, beetroot and onions. She wrote along with the picture, "nothing like a simple nutritious #lunch #thegreatindiandiet."
Seems like Shilpa love the sorghum flour or jowar atta for its nutritional content, including a great amount of antioxidants that reduce the risk of various chronic health problems. She recently shared the recipe of jowar roti on her Youtube channel as well.
Here's hoping we keep getting such healthy and delicious motivation all through the quarantine period from our favourite celebrities to sail through the pandemic.
