A McDonald's outlet in Canada, considered to be the worst in the world by many, is closing its doors after almost 40 years. As per a report in the Daily Star, the restaurant on Rideau Street in Ottawa, Canada, is making the headlines for all the wrong reasons. Over the years, there have been reports of racoon fights, brawls and violent outbursts occurring on sight. Hence, the franchise decided not to renew the lease on the property. They will officially close their doors in April 2023, the report added.
The McDonald's brunch was opened in 1985 and went viral in 2013 when a person took a baby racoon out of his shirt during a brawl. You heard us. The Mirror reports that the McDonald's restaurant was also responsible for over 800 police callouts in a year, including a complaint about the racoon fight. In 2015, another video featuring a massive brawl went all over the internet, reports The Mirror. Since then, the restaurant decided to reduce their working hours from 24 hours to 6 am to 10 pm, that too just for takeaways.

The Ottawa's Police Chief said the chain store has been a beacon of chaos and cause for concern, read a report on Metro.co.uk. They received around 900 calls regarding the same in 2018. The Police Chief informed that he raised concerns about the "ongoing criminal activity and social disorder" in a letter to the President and CEO of McDonald's Canada.
Further commenting on the decision of closing the doors of the outlet, the building owner Peter Crosthwaite told CTV News that the decision was taken not just due to the ongoing violence at the outlet. According to Crosthwaite, the subway in the city "that tore up Rideau Street', pandemic and a few other factors were also responsible for the closure.
