Puran indicates the sweet stuffing inside while the outer flatbread is called poli in Marathi. People cook it up with jaggery and dollops of ghee.

3) Shrikhand

It is a must on a Gujarati thali. It has a thick creamy texture made up of sweetened hung curd.One can also find Shrikhand in Maharashtra.

4) Ghewar

It is a disc-shaped dessert that looks similar to a honeycomb. It is soaked in sugar syrup. People prefer to have it with rabri. You can also add kesar for the yellow texture. Ghewar is quite popular in Rajasthan.

5) Mysore Pak

6) Boorelu

These are deep-fried sweet dumplings traditionally hailing from Andhra Pradesh. This sweet is typically prepared from chana dal, jaggery, sugar and cardamom powder. Since we are talking about a south Indian delicacy, don't forget to add some coconut to it.
