  • Pressure cooker is one of the most versatile utensils in a kitchen.
  • But it often ends up getting stained.
  • Here's a quick tip to keep your pressure cooker clean while cooking.

The process of cooking food isn't just limited to rustling up various dishes. There's a lot of post-cooking work that needs to be done including washing your utensils. Well, this process is a painstaking task. And, things get from bad to worse when, even after continuous trials, you fail to get rid of stubborn stains on the utensils. For example, when you cook dal in a pressure cooker, you notice that the turmeric water that's boiling inside comes up and gets out of the lid, leaving stains all over it. This is a common scene in almost every household. Right? Do you also spend more than the usual time cleaning your cooker and removing the marks? Well, you can prevent it all from happening in the first place. Chef Pankaj Bhadouria shared a video on Instagram, revealing an easy hack to keep your pressure cooker clean.

Chef Pankaj stated, you need to follow a quick step before you start cooking your dal. Just remove the whistle, first, from the pressure cooker. Now, make a hole in tissue paper and insert it through the vent pipe. Then, put the whistle back in its place (vent pipe). Pankaj explained that the tissue will soak whatever excess water that will come out of the cooker. That's it.

Earlier, Chef Pankaj Bhadouria showed how we can maintain non-stick cookware. According to her, when you buy non-stick cookware, soak it in hot water and soap. Then, wash it. Try to use only wooden or silicone spatulas. You should not use a non-stick pan for high-heat cooking. Never put a hot non-stick pan in cold water directly. Wonder why? This may create a thermal shock that degrades the non-stick coating. Always use mild soap and a sponge while cleaning the non-stick pan. After washing the utensil, season it with two drops of oil to increase the durability. You can also use baking soda and water to remove the stains.
