The recipe video was shared by popular vegetarian food vlogger Manjula Jain on her YouTube channel 'Manjula's Kitchen'. The recipe uses four types of dals - split urad dal (with skin), split-wash moong dal (without skin), masoor dal and arhar dal (also known as toor dal). The dals are cooked together like you normally cook any dal. When the dals are cooked, a tempering or chaunk is added to make it flavourful and rich.
