Macrobiotic nutritionist and health practitioner Shilpa Arora says, "it is a low Glycaemic Index (GI) fruit, which helps in keeping blood sugar under control. This fruit can also be cherished by people suffering from diabetes and is one of the best fruits for the ones with hormonal imbalances."

It is also said that guava has high fibre content (5 gram dietary fibre on 100 gram, as per USDA), which can make up to 12 to 20 percent of your daily fibre intake. These fibres help one to feel fuller for longer time, which plays a role in helping with shedding those extra kilos. Fibre aids digestion that promotes metabolism and further leads to weight loss.
