Walnut Chutney Recipe:


Ingredients -
1 cup walnuts
5-6 cloves of garlic
Half inch piece of ginger
2 tablespoons olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
Half teaspoon cumin (jeera) powder
Juice of 1 lemon

Method of preparation:
Step 1 - Roast the walnuts till they change their colour.
Step 2 - Combine the walnuts, minced garlic and ginger, olive oil in a blender. Add some water. Pulse it a few times till your get a fine paste. Adjust the quantity of water accordingly.
Step 3 - Add jeera powder, salt and black pepper and pulse again.
Step 4 - Scoop out the chutney in a bowl and add lime juice. Mix well. Decorate with coriander leaves and serve. You can also sprinkle some chilli flakes or red pepper powder on it.

Tip: If you want to pair this chutney with south Indian dishes like idli and dosa, add mustard seeds after cracking them in oil, and some curry leaves while grinding the walnuts.

This walnut chutney will make for an interesting addition to your collection of dips. It's best to serve with snacks or pita bread to your guests to make a great impression.
