Indians have a vast array of culinary tastes and preferences. Some like their food super spicy, while others prefer to keep the spices minimal. And then there are also some who like to eat roti and rice together whereas others prefer only one kind of main whole grain. Another common difference is how Indians eat rice. Eating rice with their hands or eating with a spoon - Indians are divided over their choices about this. While some feel it is okay to eat rice with hands, others prefer using a spoon instead. Recently, a Reddit user shared his experience at a food court in Uttar Pradesh. He was eating Rajma Chawal with his hands and a lady who passed by gave him disgusted looks. Take a look at his post:

"Yesterday I was eating rajma chawal with my hand at a food court/cafe and a lady walked past me looking in disgust like I committed some crime," wrote the user u/vivek71200 in the sub-Reddit r/India. "I felt like punching her. Why do some Indians have this obsession to eat food with spoons even if it's not meant to," he asked. The post received hundreds of likes and comments on the platform.
Indian Reddit users discussed and debated this issue in the comments section. Some said it doesn't matter and it was a matter of personal preference. Further, Redditors also pointed out that others didn't have a right to comment on our food habits. "You should have yelled 'stop staring, get you own rajma,'" wrote one user in the comments. Another said, "Eating with hands is the norm in South India!"
