McDonald's is one of the most popular fast-food chains and a favourite for many around the world. It is well known for creating localised menus that attracts and cater to diners from different locations. Embracing the summer and keeping customer's needs in mind, McDonald's UK, has gone one step ahead by launching two new limited-edition summer menus. They feature a brand-new selection of items inspired by the flavours of the Mediterranean. The fast-food chain is introducing these items in two separate phases; first from June 8 to July 26 and is themed around the 'Taste of Italy', second from July 27 to September 6, themed as 'Taste of Spain and Cyprus'.
To celebrate Italy, the menu features an Italian Stack Burger, Crispy Chicken Italiana Burger, Mozzarella Dippers and Tiramisu McFlurry. The Italian Stack Burger is inspired by the famous lasagne. The second menu celebrates Spain and Cyprus features a Spicy Spanish Stack Burger, Chicken Fiesta Burger, Halloumi Fries and a Fruit Punch.
McDonald's UK took to Instagram stories to post a behind the scenes video of their Italian menu. In the story, they wrote "The Summer Menu Is Coming! We went BTS with @scottcaneat to give you a peek of the Italian Menu. Launching this Wednesday". They also added the song 'Don't Stop' by Giulio Cercato. Take a look:
Their new menu created quite a stir online, sparking outrage among burger lovers on Twitter. McDonald's fans remained divided about the menu. While some stated that they can't wait to try the new summer menu, others however, were still not convinced with McDonald's new addition of items.
One user wrote, "I can't waaaaait! The Tiramisu McFlurry looks absolutely incredible my favourite dessert ever." Another expressed excitement saying, "Ooo can't wait!" Some also said, "I'd much rather have the breakfast wrap back." Another one questioned, "Well I'm asking for McRib. Where's my delivery?"
