The idea of charcuterie boards has taken the world by storm. These specially curated food spreads can serve as an impressive appetiser for different types of gatherings. Assembling the different parts of a charcuterie board - such as fruits, cheeses, pickled veggies, preserved meats, crackers, etc. - is considered an art in itself. Recently, a group of people in Florida pooled their relevant skills together to set a unique world record: one for the largest charcuterie board. The record was broken by Boarderie, an online charcuterie delivery company, based in Florida, U.S.A.

At an event held on October 4, 2023, the brand showcased the record-breaking artisanal spread measuring 20 feet by 14 feet. Wondering how much this stunning charcuterie board weighs? A whopping 769 pounds (almost 350 kilograms)! It is said to be a replica 169 times larger than Boarderie's popular Arte board. The company revealed that it featured an "array of premium artisan cheeses, cured meats, flatbread crackers, nuts and dried fruits, gourmet chocolates, and a globally sourced selection of olives and spreads".
Various sponsors helped contribute items for the gigantic charcuterie board, including more than 300 pounds of premium cured meats by Columbus Craft Meats. After the event, the contents of the board were donated to a local nonprofit organisation, The Lord's Place, which aims to end homelessness. Here's a video showing a glimpse of the event:

Before this, a group of students from a Californian high school, along with their teacher, set the world record for the longest charcuterie board in March 2023. Measuring 62.38 m (204 ft 7.8 inches), this board contained 500 pounds (approx 226 kg) of food, including more than five different meats, fruits, nuts and cheese, according to Guinness World Records.
